SHORELINE GATEWAY

VISION

The project derived its name and design from the merging of two historic Ranchos, the terminus of Shoreline Drive, and its position as the east gateway into Downtown Long Beach. The design was carefully crafted within the context of the site and curated with community objectives, fulfilling the vision and importance of this iconic intersection of Long Beach – offering the last unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean in Downtown.

Shoreline Gateway completes a phased development that was conceived in 2004 – having survived the Great Recession and demise of the CA Redevelopment Agency – with the completion of the initial phase, The Current, in 2016. Shoreline Gateway will be a signature iconic waterfront tower designed in a modern ethic. As the tallest residential tower in the City, Shoreline Gateway will offer unparalleled 360-degree views of Long Beach, Catalina Island, Orange County and Downtown Los Angeles.

Location

East Gateway to Downtown Long Beach

Shoreline Gateway is the second phase of a beachfront apartment high-rise community with panoramic ocean views located in Downtown Long Beach. It will be one of only two coastal high-rise apartment buildings built in L.A. County since the 1960’s, offering one of the most walkable locations in all of Southern California. The 35-story building is scheduled to open in 2021 and offers 315 luxury, market rate apartments and 6,500 sq. ft. of ground floor retail, fronting a 10,000 sq.ft. plaza.

The property is located in the East Village Arts District – a hip, urban and rapidly changing neighborhood with all of the elements for accelerated growth, including excellent walkability to the beach, the metro, a Vons grocery store, major public and private developments, and a massive job base undersupplied by quality apartments. It will be only the second luxury high-rise apartment building built in Long Beach since 1968, and one of the only modern apartment buildings offering walkable access to this unique, authentic urban neighborhood.

Walk Score

Walkscore.com calls Shoreline Gateway’s location a “Walker’s Paradise” where daily life does not require a car. The project is one block away from a newly-built Vons grocery store; three blocks from the METRO Blue Line Station; directly across the street from the Beach; and within a 5-10 minute walk of every restaurant, bar, coffee shop, art gallery, and music venue that Downtown Long Beach has to offer.
